Christmas no 1 of 2

Last weekend we celebrated Christmas with Kaspers's parents in Denmark. This is one of the many benefits of having a boyfriend; you can have two Christmas eves!

First we went to a Christmas tree planatation because we wanted to choose and trap a tree our selvs. But all the trees at the plantation were super big or had two tops or were a bit yellowish so it ended with us buying a tree that already had been cut. The rest of the day we spent decorating the tree, eating danish æbleskiver ("apple slizes" even though it does not contain apples or are slized..), having a Danish Christmas dinner and exchanging presents.

I love buying, wrapping and giving gifts, but it's also nice to get some :) This weekend I got a eyeprimer, serum for the hair, coffee/tea cups, NYC book with money for the plane ticket and a fun sushi-set! Thank you very much everyone!

When we came home yesterday, we bought some sushi take-away and of course we had to try out the new set:

It contains two small plates, two sets of chopsticks, and two small bowls for the soya with a sushi-chef man to hold your chopsticks :)

This weekend's happenings

This Friday all the girls came and we had taco-night with nachos, fajitas, Coronas and everything that goes with it.

Yesterday (Saturday) started with brunch at Brooklyn together with Benjamin and Janni visiting from Denmark. We then showed them Helsingborg, who had decided to be on the good side and showed us some sun and beautiful colors on the trees. We then went to Väla shopping center outside Helsingborg and Kasper and I found some jars for tea and some other stuff (in a separate post). After a nice dinner of parmesan breaded halibut with avocado, rucola and sprouts, and my Swedish apple pie with ice cream, Kasper and I said farewell to the Danes and went clubbing with the gang.

Today, I bit tired and confused of the time change (winter time) Kasper, Charlie and I went to the forest and I got some pictures with my new phone.

Helsingborg

After our week in Denmark with silver wedding, smal trips and meeting friends, it was finaly time for moving over to the other side of Öresund (the sound between Denmark and Sweden).

We had gotten our things from Barcelona and after collecting and filling the truck with as much things as possible from the Copenhagen apartment, we went with the ferry from Helsingør to Helsingborg.

Hello Helsingborg!

For about 10 days we lived with no furniture, because they were still in the Copenhagen apartment. Well we had bought a new bed and we had our balcony table and chairs from Barcelona, so we managed ;) But then 10 days later we went back to Denmark to collect the last things and filled up an other truck with stuff. The following days we spent unpacking, going back and forth to IKEA and orginazing in the basement. Since we had had a leak in the basement in Copenhagen where a lot of things had been distroyed, we now have nothing on the floor! All my "old" books, that I had planned to sell from veterinary-school were distroyed.. Thousands of Dansih crowns just thrown away.. :(

In between everything, we have been exploring Helsingborg and doing walks with Charlie the dog. Helsingborg is one of Scandinavias oldest cities, dating back to the vikings (10th century).

BBQ at Louise

During one of the days we had in Denmark before moving to Sweden, we went to our friend Louise and together with two other friends, Esben and Jens, we had a little BBQ on her rooftop terrace.

It was a very nice evening which included the usual topics food, music and cars, and of course the quiz "Bezzerwizzer" was played ;)

Trip to Møns Klint

Before moving to Sweden, we had a week to spend in Denmark (this was 3 weeks ago). We stayed at Kasper's parents house, and one day we borrowed the car and went south of Copenhagen, to a place called Møns Klint (Cliffs of Møn). Møn is an island and the point facing east and the Baltic Sea are covered with white chalk cliffs. The highest point measures 123m above the sea! Read more here (in English).

We had made a little picnic basket and went down to the beach to eat and watch the cliffs and sea. As you can see, I didn't have the right type of shoes on for walking on the beach, so after our little lunch we went back up again. Easier said than done.. 500 or something steps in the stairs later we were back to the car. Eventhough the sun almost had passed by the beach and cliffs, it was very beautiful and powerful to see and I think I got some nice pictures (click to enlarge):

Happy Birthday Baby!

Hip hip hurray, today is Kasper's birthday!

But first some from yesterday. After some beers at the beach and a walk to the cathedral, we saw the Magic Fountain. We then took a raspberry mojito at Rosa Negra and ended with tapas at El Rovell; a winning concept!

Today, Kasper got breakfast at bed and Charlie helped him unpack his pressies. Then I made a cake (with strawberries forming the Danish flag) and Benjamin and Janni came by for a slize, before they headed out for te Bus Turistico. Kasper and I went for a long walk with Charlie in the sun (had like 23deg and sun all day) and together we then had lunch at Hard Rock Café. After some waiting time in the bar, we had too too much food; spring rolls, potatoeskins, chicken wings, fried chicken, onion rings, cheese burgers, fries, sandwish, sallad and a macaroni & cheese. We ended the feast by charing a hot brownie with sundae, fudge and cream.
