Stockholm tomorrow!

Tomorrow morning I'm taking the train from Helsingborg to Göteborg, changing train there for the X2000 to Stockholm. Hopefully, after around 5 hours, I will be in Stockholm. But after the last couple of weeks heavy snowfall, most of the trains are delayed or canceled, so it will be interesting to see when (or if?) I will be arriving to the capital..

Here are some pictures from Christmas last year and the year before that.

Christmas no 1 of 2

Last weekend we celebrated Christmas with Kaspers's parents in Denmark. This is one of the many benefits of having a boyfriend; you can have two Christmas eves!

First we went to a Christmas tree planatation because we wanted to choose and trap a tree our selvs. But all the trees at the plantation were super big or had two tops or were a bit yellowish so it ended with us buying a tree that already had been cut. The rest of the day we spent decorating the tree, eating danish æbleskiver ("apple slizes" even though it does not contain apples or are slized..), having a Danish Christmas dinner and exchanging presents.

Making æbleskiver, it's almost like a ball-shaped pancake and you eat them with jam and icing sugar. Decorations

I love buying, wrapping and giving gifts, but it's also nice to get some :) This weekend I got a eyeprimer, serum for the hair, coffee/tea cups, NYC book with money for the plane ticket and a fun sushi-set! Thank you very much everyone!

When we came home yesterday, we bought some sushi take-away and of course we had to try out the new set:

It contains two small plates, two sets of chopsticks, and two small bowls for the soya with a sushi-chef man to hold your chopsticks :)

Christmas nails #3: Snowmen, Santa, bells...

Here comes this week's Christmas nails! Not that long til it's Christmas now, I will show you one more after this mani, which will be the one I'll be wearing for Christmas eve.

I used Kiko Pearly Dark Copper (no 224) that I bought last time in Barcelona. It's a coppery dark brown shimmer polish:

It covered in two coats and was easy to apply, here without top coat. I then stamped with almost all prints on Konad plate m12 and Konad white special polish. I then did the same prints on the other hand.

Christmas tree, bells, Santa, Snowman

Merry Christmas!

I got some smearing (again!) but I like the mani and love the color of this Kiko.

The Sunday after..

Well I wasn't that tired so Kasper and I went to Väla shopping center to buy the last Christmas presents. We then went for a walk with Charlie the dog to get my things at Jennie&Hanna which I had left the day before. We also put up the Christmas tree we had bought some weeks earlier and gift wrapped some of the presents! I know it's super early to put up the Christmas tree, usually we do it the day before Christmas eve (on the 23rd), but we bought one in plastic this year (yeah I know mom and dad!! how did that happen?? and in black and silver!?) and since we are going to Kaspers parents this weekend and then going to Stockholm, we wanted to look at it for at least a week.

With and without flash. We went for Christmas balls and decorations in mostly red and gold this year.

Charlie thought it was boring decorating after a while, so he went to bed

Look how small he looks :)

Christmas nails #2 Red with golden glitter

There are some colors that are more "Christmas" than others, and I think those are green, red, white and gold. So this week I am wearing a red/pink with glitter in gold on top!

I first used two coats of Kiko Galactic no 277 Microglitter Cranberry.

It's a red/pink microglitter polish which probably would have needed 3 coats on its own (2 coats in the pic). In the bottle you can see a hint of microglitter in gold aswell, but just as in the purple Kiko Galactic, the gold disappears on the nail.

I then put e.l.f. Golden Godess on top, starting with one layer over the whole nail

Golden Godess is a glitter polish in gold in a clear base. It has both large and smaller glitter particles in it.

I then put one more layer from the middle of the nail to the tip, and then a last coat only on the last 1/3 of the nail, trying to make a gradient. These two pics with three coats.

The gradient didn't turn out as I hoped because of the larger glitter flakes, but I like the combination between the cranberry and gold, and it looks really festive!

Second Sunday in Advent

Last weekend Kasper and I went shopping Christmas presents. But we will have to contiunue next weekend, not even half way through! And no pictures of that since some of the people we bought for are reading my blog ;)

I also made Swedish lussebullar, which is a bun with saffron on it that is typical in Sweden during Advent and Christmas, read more here.

Lussebullar!

This week I will make pepparkakor (gingerbread).

Today

The singer from the Swedish group Sugarplum fairy played in our school today during lunch break. I made a video with my mobile but you can't hear the sing because of everyone close to me talking.. Anyway, he is the little brother to one of the singers in Mando Diao (just FYI). You might have heard the song Sweet Jackie.

This is at Stortorget (The Big Square) in Helsingborg on my way home from school:

Giant chistmas tree

Hm you can't really see it, but they had put candles in the stairs under Kärnan that looked like a ribbon (you know one of those fight breast cancer or aids ones)

Other that that, I have just been studying.. Exam coming up on Friday! After that I will have my life back :)

Christmas nails #1: Candy canes

I thought of doing different Christmas designs for the nails during December and maybe so give some inspiration to someone?

This weekend I tried a new polish, Depend no 175. I was in the airport and was going to choose one of those girl magazines that's really contains the same; fashon, make-up and sex. But then there was one in which you got a nailpolish as a gift and so it wasn't that hard to choose! :D

Anyway, the polish is a red cream polish which covered in two coats and was very easy to apply. I then put some candy cane-stripes over in white and stamped some candy canes from plate m12 on the ringfingers.

Unfortunaly I was a bit to quick to apply the top coat so I got some smearing, but it can only be seen up close.

A White Helsingborg!

Yesterday evening we got snow here in Helsingborg! But it's not only the weather that is getting in a Christmas-mood. My body (read stomach) is also longing for the holidays! Here is some of what I bought last day (Swedish Christmasfood..): pepparkakor, glögg, sylta, vörtbröd, risgrynsgröt, leverpastej, risifrutti juledition, clementiner...

Yesterday evening

And when it's getting cold, you better dress for it, so here is what I wore today:
Knitted top from Primark
Black skirt Gina Tricot
Brown leader boots
