Ash-cloud-detour-update

Since everything right now is about how Kasper will come home, this post will also be about that.

He did come to Paris this afternoon. There is a train-strike in France right now, so after standing in line for more than an hour, he got a train ticket to Montpellier, leaving about now. From there he will take an other train, but it doesn't leave until tomorrow at 11. That train will take him to the French/Spanish border, and from there he will have to take a regional train to Barcelona. PUH.

So hopefully he will come home tomorrow evening! Let's cross all our fingers...

Check out how the ash-cloud is moving here

And a webcam showing the volcano here

Today I looked after Gabriel while his parents ran Cursa Bombers. More about that and pictures tomorrow!

Charlie the wolf?

For those of you that claim that there is nothing left of the wolf in today's dog breeds, well maybe you should think again:

Volcano Update
: Kasper is now going through Europe by train. Right now he is on the first one, Copenhagen - Hamburg. From there he will take a train to Köln where he will spend the night. Tomorrow he will try to take a train to Paris and from there to Barcelona. If anyone has a better idea, please tell me :)

Spotted

Yesterday I saw Maria Agrell. She is also a blogging Swede living in Barcelona. It's funny because I don't know her by person, or I know some people that she knows but other than that, I'm just reading her blog. But by reading some peoples blogs you kind of feel like you know them. Like some kind of imaginary friends. Especially if they write about personal things. Anyway, she looked just like on the pictures (maybe even better) and I was so close to say hi, but controlled my self; you don't know that woman V, and she definitely don't know who you are.

It's like those stories you hear about people walking up to someone just becasue they recognize their face and thinks I must know that person, I have seen her before, and realizing too late that that person is a singer or celebrity and not your friend.

While I'm doing some namedropping, here are an other well-visited blog that I follow. She is making all kinds of food in her coffee maker (also in Swedish).

Hey Iceland,

keep your ashes to your self! As it is now, Kasper won't be able to fly home from Copenhagen tomorrow, and Charlie and I need him, so please weather God, send the smoke to Greenland instead!

Is it even possible to take the train from Denmark to Spain?? Anyone?

Homewife?

The Swedish translation for housewife is hemmafru. Translated back to English, it means homewife. On one hand I sometimes feel like one here in Barcelona; being home most of the day, walking the dog, being with babies and children, washing clothes etc. But on the other hand, how can you be a homewife without being at home nor a wife..?

Im enjoying my life here, but something is missing. And that something I think, is a gruop to belong to. Like; Hi I'm Kasper and I'm an economist, or I'm a police, I'm working with children, I'm having my own business etcetc.. What can I say; Hi I'm Viktoria and I'm doing nothing? It's like when you are doing a servey and you are going to check the box "Occupation", what do I check? Right now I'm just putting student. Well yeah, I'm doing some babysitting and helping Kasper with his company, but that is just too long and diffuse. I'm really looking forward starting school after the summer, and at least being able to say "Hi, I'm Viktoria and I'm a student" and mean it.

This is what it can look like when you havn't
done the dishes in 6 days...

I don't really see the fun in being a housewife. Right now I would much rather present my self as a nanny. At least children make me happy. Like yesterday when Gabriel and I where playing in his babygym:

Hehe I know, I look like a giant next to him

Eating out

One of the many nice things about having friends visiting is that you get a good excuse for going out. On Sunday evening we went to the sushi-place, Dao, next to the post office where you eat as much as you like and the food comes on a belt. As if we hadn't had enough food at Hard Rock..

And yesterday we went to Rosa Negra for mexican food and some more of their delicius raspberry mojitos.

Sushi buffé
Mexican at Rosa Negra.

Sadly Janni and Benjamin are going home today, so no more eating out for a while. But that will be good for my wallet. Because as a good friend, guide and hostess, I followed B&J to Diagonal Mar shopping center yesterday, and got home with a new bag, earrings, a top and a beach-dress. oops.

Now I'm meeting them for a goodbye-coffee at Foc :)

My M's and J's

Music plays a big part of my life. I mostly listen to soft rock/pop/sing-song-writers, and now I have started to see a pattern. My big favorites are:

James Morrison
John Mayer
Jason Mraz
Jack Johnson
Jamie Cullum
Michel Jackson
Moby

We then have some missmatches, but I like them anyway;
Robbie Williams
David Gray
Daniel Lemma
Train
Coldplay
Veronica Maggio
and the list can go on and on..

Here are a great combo; JM that sings a MJ song:

And here a good memory from last summer when James Morrison played in Tivoli in Copenhagen. Lovely concert and night, although it rained quite a lot.

Drinks, football and beach

After the all amarican feast yesterday at Hard Rock, we didn't have space for more food, so instead for dinner we went to a bar to celebrate Kasper's birthday and to se El Clásico. The bar we were supposed to go to, Foc, were full so instead we went to a Irish pub, The Fastnet, not far away. A lot of friends, beer (Swedish cider for me) and a 0-2 victory for Barca made the evening. The four of us then ended at Foc (when the game was over) anyway to finish of with a juicy cocktail and some nachos.

Today Kasper and I dressed up like turists (or more dressed down), with shorts (for the first time this year), flip-flops, espadrillos, bikinitop and some sunscreen and went to the beach. It was a bit windy, but ok if you laid down. Still think it the water is too cold.

Here are some pics from yesterday:

Happy Birthday Baby!

Hip hip hurray, today is Kasper's birthday!

But first some from yesterday. After some beers at the beach and a walk to the cathedral, we saw the Magic Fountain. We then took a raspberry mojito at Rosa Negra and ended with tapas at El Rovell; a winning concept!

Today, Kasper got breakfast at bed and Charlie helped him unpack his pressies. Then I made a cake (with strawberries forming the Danish flag) and Benjamin and Janni came by for a slize, before they headed out for te Bus Turistico. Kasper and I went for a long walk with Charlie in the sun (had like 23deg and sun all day) and together we then had lunch at Hard Rock Café. After some waiting time in the bar, we had too too much food; spring rolls, potatoeskins, chicken wings, fried chicken, onion rings, cheese burgers, fries, sandwish, sallad and a macaroni & cheese. We ended the feast by charing a hot brownie with sundae, fudge and cream.

Drinks at the bar. And the boys are hungry
Finaly burgers!

Soon we are going down to Foc for some drinks and later El Clásico (Real Madrid - Barcelona).

Oh and I have got a new camera! So hopefully some more snapshots and pictures at the blog in the future.

The backside of living on the top floor..

Today I went for a run. Yes, run. But it wasn't for me, but for Charlie. He has a lot of energy to use, so we went to the beach. After running to the W hotel, we went down to el mar so he could cool down. He didn't want to. So I took of my shoes, socks and rolled up my pants and went in to the water, as a good example, to show him that it is lovely. Well it was kinda cold, but not freezing. After chasing some waves we sundried and jogged back home.

After the run I somehow had some more energy to use, so I washed the windows. Puha, as we say in Denmark, they were dirty! But now it looks good :)

Okay, now to the backside of living on the top floor with a balcony. Some say that a picture is worth a thousand words, so just take a look:

And this is just after one day! I hate doves/pigeons; Stop using my balcony as a toilet!

Now I am wating for our friends from Denmark to arrive, Benjamin and Janni! It's gonna be so much fun having you here!

Here are the song of the week:

(Yep, the same Train that did "Drops of Jupiter" for like 10 years ago)
Have a super weekend!
